Queesraking Chris and Queesra

Queesra & King, the alteration shop

Opened in 2013. Initially focusing on both Bespoke and alteration services Chris and Queesra quickly realised that there was a gap in the market for an alteration service that had high level tailoring, sewing and design skills. Often the alteration market is associated with a skill set that is lesser than crafting a garment from scratch, Chris and Queesra wanted to change this. Following the decision to focus on only alterations in Neston, business grew dramatically, as there is demand for high level alterations.

It is important to mention that small jobs are essential to Queesra & King but what is equally as important is to be able to say, there is no job too big or small, and genuinely be able to follow this through to a high standard.

With high standards in mind it is worth giving a brief overview of the skills on offer.

Christopher King runs the day to day of the business, his areas of specialty include the technical aspects of design, drawing, pattern cutting and manufacture. The inspiration to study these arts originate from his grandmother. Christopher has a BA honours Degree in Men’s Fashion Design from London College of Fashion, during his studies he practiced under Nico Didonne; a Saville Row tailor in London, developing his tailoring and pattern cutting skills under the tutelage of Nico.

Queesra King is available on a consultancy basis, her interests lie in the design of clothes and experimenting with fabrics, drawing inspiration from her mother who was a dressmaker. Queesra gained a BA Honours Degree in Fashion Design at the University of East London. Having studied for 6 months in Paris learning the art of pattern cutting, she also has experience in crafting luggage, laser cutting and digital fabric printing.
